Happy New Year to
All,
I hope everyone is
staying warm this winter. In this part of the state we have been fortunate not
to have any extended cold spells, but we have had our fair share of snow.
I’m sure most of
you have heard about the raffle for the State Show this year, if not, here is
the information. We will only be selling 600 tickets, they will be $25 each.
Here is a breakdown of the payout

As you can see,
there are several chances to win, and the worst you could do if you happen to
have a winning ticket is to double your money. If you have any questions about
the raffle, please e-mail me at
webmaster@ianbha.com. I hope to have the tickets ready for distribution by
late January or early February.
Now that 2008 is
upon us, we can start seeking sponsors full force. We already have one barrel
sponsor and one buckle sponsor that have committed for 2008. A reminder that
with the State Show being in June instead of August, it is very important to get
started on sponsors right away. Also, as we do not have an All-District show
before the state show this year, we need all the sponsors we can get. Last year
the All-District show profited approximately $2500 that went towards the State
Show.
If you have any
ideas for potential sponsors, let me know. Some businesses may not be receptive
to the idea of a “Sponsorship”, if that is the case, you might approach it as
“Advertising” instead. I feel that for our Sponsorship levels, sponsors get a
lot in return. I have some membership statistics available if anyone wants
them to use when approaching potential sponsors.
In browsing through
the most recent membership list, I noticed that there are several people that do
not have waivers signed. You could actually not be allowed to compete until you
have a waiver signed. I have them available, and they should also be available
from the District Directors as well.
Also in looking at
the membership list, there are several e-mail addresses that are incorrect. I
would like to have everyone’s current e-mail address so that I can contact them
in that way, if so desired. If you could e-mail me your current e-mail address,
I would greatly appreciate it.
If you ever need to
contact me about anything NBHA related, you can e-mail me at
webmaster@ianbha.com or call my cell
phone at 641-919-8547. I will try to get back you in a timely manner.
Everyone have a
safe and warm winter, see you in the spring

Happy New Year everyone!
We hope that everyone has had a great holiday season and will
have a blessed and happy 2008. Before we know it, May will be here and
our 2008 season will be starting. I am working on the schedule now and
we are planning 18 shows for the season. We will use the same six
arenas we used last year.
Awards Banquet--will be on Saturday, March 1, 2008 at the Anthon
Community Center in Anthon, Iowa. The meal will be catered with the
cost being $10.00/person and $7.00/kids under 10. There will be an open
cash bar. Starting time will be 5pm for the meeting for all our members
to attend, with the meal following at 6:00 or 6:30. Awards will start
around 7pm or when most people are done with the meal. We are planning
on having a silent auction of the table center pieces and will probably
have 10 tables set, so anyone that would like to donate any kind of a
center piece please contact me as soon as possible, so we know how many
we will have. All proceeds will go to next year's awards. We will also
have our usual door prizes for NBHA members only so please bring items
of any kind for the drawing of names. We will be sending out personal
invitations and more info to our members by mail with an RSVP (for the
caterer). The RSVP will need to be mailed back by February 10, 2008.
We still do not have a person or persons taking over the
concession stand. There are entry fee perks at each show where the
concession stand is needed and expenses are reimbursed. Please let us
know either before the banquet or at the banquet if you will take this
on. If we can't find someone to do it we will loose about $100.00 per
show where we have our own concessions, which will definitely affect the
year end awards.
Remember to watch your mail for the banquet invitation. We hope
to see you all there and please don't forget to RSVP as soon as
possible. Let's pray the weather is good to us this year and we can
have it on that date.
Again, HAPPY NEW YEAR TO EVERYONE and see you soon.
Cindy

Hello
everyone, I hope you are having a safe winter. Please remember to renew
your newsletter subscriptions, you get more complete information in the

A personal
announcement I would like to make is that Mark and I were recently
engaged and will be married late this coming summer, no date yet as I'm
